Schedule: Tuesday – Friday, 10 AM – 4:30 PM (Nights and weekends required for events)
Pay: $17 per hour (Bonus and pay increase eligibility)

About Burlington Riverfront Entertainment (BRE):
Burlington Riverfront Entertainment (BRE) is a 501c3 organization dedicated to providing quality entertainment to Southeast Iowa. Properties managed include the Burlington Memorial Auditorium, Port of Burlington, and the Burlington Depot, fostering cultural experiences within the community.

Position Summary:
The Administrative Assistant will be an integral part of the team, primarily managing the operations of the Memorial Auditorium box office. This role requires proficiency in office software, basic accounting skills, strong communication abilities, and exceptional customer service skills.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day operations of the Memorial Auditorium box office:
    • Sell event tickets and handle event set-up using TicketSocket and Square backend systems.
    • Foster positive relationships with visitors and patrons entering the building.
  • Perform light accounting duties using QuickBooks Online:
    • Recording of payments and invoicing.
  • Demonstrate organizational skills within the office environment.
  • Utilize various office equipment, including Microsoft 365 tools and phones.
  • Assist in building cleaning responsibilities.
  • Handle a variety of tasks as assigned by the BRE Executive Director.
  • Collaborate with the team to set up and tear down events across BRE properties, ensuring they run smoothly and efficiently.
    • Assist in arranging event spaces, equipment, and materials as required.
    • Provide support during events, addressing any immediate needs or concerns.
    • Ensure the post-event area is cleaned and restored to its original state.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 year of experience in high levels of public contact/customer service.
  • 1 year of office-related experience.
  • Proficiency in using office software, especially Microsoft 365.
  • Ability to lift 30 lbs. and handle basic office equipment.
  • Required to work nights and weekends for events.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills (written and verbal).
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Proficient in basic accounting practices.
  • Comfortable using computers and office equipment.

Mental Demands:
This role requires attention to detail, meeting deadlines, teamwork, and adapting to changing priorities. The ideal candidate should have a positive, customer-focused attitude and be adaptable to various situations.

Equipment and Tools:
The Administrative Assistant will frequently use standard office equipment, small hand tools, and cleaning supplies. Proficiency in computer usage is crucial for this role.
